Freshman Jayleen Fegan racked up a match-high 15 kills and junior Megan Gardner added 10 as the Nichols College women's volleyball program earned its first win of 2018 with a 3-0 triumph over Mitchell College Saturday afternoon at Eastern Connecticut State.
 
Freshman Rachael Veilleux handed out 30 assists while senior Zoe Chevrette notched 14 digs in head coach John Post's first collegiate victory. The Bison won game one 25-20, game two 25-14, and game three 25-16.
 
The Bison (1-2) later dropped a 3-0 decision to the Warriors as senior Sabrina Boermeester posted five kills to lead NC, which lost 25-9, 25-11, and 25-12.

Three things you need to know...
-The Bison posted a .244 hitting percentage against the Mariners – including a .333 clip in the second game.
-Fegan and Veilleux each racked up five service aces against Mitchell. The Bison finished with 17 as a team.
-Chevrette tallied 11 digs against the Warriors.
