Volleyball Falls to Bay Path 3-1

- PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria Volleyball Team was defeated by Bay Path University this evening during non-conference play in the Fuller Center.  

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/10/2019

- Score: Bay Path 3, Anna Maria 1. Set scores (25-18, 22-25, 7-25, 17-25).

- Records: Bay Path 1-5, Anna Maria (0-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The AMCATS came out firing in the first set tallying 8 kills to the Wildcats 6 to get the set victory. Bay Path was able to regroup and stand their ground through the next three sets to win the match.

- For the Wildcats, Marissa Courchesne (Belchertown, MA) led her squad in kills, service aces, and digs. She ended the contest with 11 kills, 4 service aces, and 24 digs. Those numbers would hold up to be a game best in all categories.  

-  Freshmen Bella Kozciak (Westfield, MA) and Senior Hannah Mitchell (Pittsfield, MA) held the top spot for the AMCATS in kills both tied with 7.

- Setter Julia Ramos (Orange, MA) was able to accumulate 14 assists throughout three sets.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Bay Path finished on more kill opportunities than the AMCATS by just 4 at 34-30.

-  The Wildcats also held the high in assists and digs with 31-26 in assists and 79-77 in digs.

- Anna Maria returns to action on Friday the 13^th as they will travel to Five Towns College for a 6:00 PM start.
