Volleyball handles SVC 3-1 in non conference action

Bennington, VT- The MCLA Volleyball team dropped the first set but rallied to take the next three as they disposed of Southern Vermont 3-1 this evening in Bennington.  With the win, MCLA improves to 5-12 while SVC drops to just 1-13.

The Mountaineers took the opener 28-26 but MCLA rebounded with a pivotal 25-19 win in set two.  They would then close out the match with a 25-21 and 27-25 wins in the next two.

Brooke Queripel led the offense once again with 13 kills on 42 attacks.  She completed the double double with 11 digs.  Brianne O'Rourke added 9 kills while Maggie Allen ended with 8.  Taylor Wiese had her best showing of the season with 20 assists.  Natasha Stewart added 16.

Mele Enomoto collected 26 digs to lead the defense while Michelle Laga and Stewart ended with 17.  

SVC was paced by Nikki Ramirez and Liv Sowles who each had 15 kills in a losing effort.

MCLA is back in action on Wednesday when they head over to Sage for a non league matchup with the Gators.
