NEWVA Poll #3

NEW LONDON, N.H. - September 24, 2014 - The University of Massachusetts-Boston moves up one spot to earn the number one ranking in the third NEWVA poll of 2014.

NEWVA POLL #3

#1 University of Massachusetts-Boston (10-3 overall, 5-0 in-region) earned a 3-0 sweep of Salve Regina last week. With the win, the Beacons extended their win streak to nine straight matches.

#2 Williams College (9-1 overall, 6-1 in-region) went 3-0 on the week posting three 3-0 wins. The Ephs earned sweeps versus #9 Endicott College, #12 Trinity College and Wesleyan University.

#3 Bodwoin College (9-2 overall, 5-1 in-region) split a pair of NESCAC matches on the week. The Polar Bears dropped their first in-region match of the year to Connecticut College but rebounded with a 3-0 sweep of Tufts University.

#4 Roger Williams University (7-4 overall, 5-1 in-region) posted a five-set win over Wellesley College on the week. With the win, the Hawks extended their winning streak to six straight matches.

#5 Springfield College (7-3 overall, 7-2 in-region) split a pair of NEWMAC matches on the week. The Pride dropped a five-set match to the #7 United States Coast Guard Academy, but rebounded with a four-set win over #6 Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
