MCLA serves its way past Cobleskill 3-1

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers shrugged off a tough start to earn a hard fought 3-1 win over the visiting SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers in non league volleyball action this evening from the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  MCLA improves their overall mark to 18-9 while Cobleskill drops to 12-13.

The Trailblazers came out of the gates slow as Cobleskill jumped out to a sizable 15-5 first set lead before MCLA finally rallied.  The home team would eventually tie things up at 22-22, but Cobleskill would collect the 25-23 set win.  MCLA would claim the next three sets behind Kelly Moczulski's and Reagan Scattergood's production.

The Trailblazers would knot things up at 1-1 following a 25-18 set two victory.  MCLA would then close the match on set wins of 25-16 and 25-11.

Moczulski would end with 14 kills on 46 attacks.  She would add 20 digs and 7 aces to her stat line.  Scattergood was just as impressive going for 12 kills and 6 digs.  Tessa Sestito continued her strong play amassing 44 assists on the night.  She added 17 digs for her own double double.  Houa Xiong added 27 digs to pace the defense while Natasha Stewart added 11 off the bench.

Cobleskill was led by Katerina Weingarten and Regan Hubner's team best 7 kills.  Mikayla Catherman collected 26 digs and 8 aces for the Fighting Tigers.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they head to Bridgewater State in the regular season finale.  The Trailblazers will be hosting a MASCAC playoff game next Tuesday, November 5th against an opponent yet to be determined.
