The SUNY Oneonta women's volleyball team opened the 2019 season with a pair of victories Friday evening at the Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic. The Red Dragons began the tournament with a 3-0 victory over SUNY Canton, before closing out the day with a 3-0 win over Nazareth.

Gillian Stieglitz (Montrose/Hendrick Hudson) paced Oneonta with 23 kills, averaging 3.83 per set while earning a .404 hitting percentage.
Victoria Moulder (Wantagh/Kellenberg Memorial) added 18 kills and four blocks while
Clara Culeton (Oswego/Oswego) chipped in with 15 kills, a team-high nine blocks and five service aces.
Kathryn Johnston (Altamont/Guilderland) also had a good night with ten kills and four blocks.
Lindsay Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) paced the Red Dragons with 30 digs, while
Jessica Fowler (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) dished out 69 assists.

The Red Dragons return to action tomorrow when they continue the Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic against Stockton University at 10:00am, before wrapping up the tournament with a bout with Marywood at 3:00pm.
