Trailblazer volleyball pushes win streak to four after 3-0 win over Maritime

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team claimed their fourth straight victory as they swept past the visiting Massachusetts Maritime Academy 3-0 this evening in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  The Trailblazers have now won eight of nine contests as they run their record to 9-4 overall.  More importantly, they even their MASCAC record to 1-1.

MMA falls to 1-11 overall and is 0-2 in the conference.

The Trailblazers cruised in the first set as Kelly Moczulski and Ahna Schlaefer provided a spark to the offense.  MCLA took the opening set 25-10.

In the second, MCLA jumped out to a sizable lead, only to see MMA rally.  The Bucs would eventually take their first lead at 20-19 and eventually 23-21 before MCLA rallied.  The Trailblazers would take the final four points of the set to close out MMA 25-23.

MCLA would take command of the third set as they jumped out to a 10-0 lead on the heels of Tessa Sestito's serving.  They would close the match out with a 25-13 set win.

Moczulski would carry the load on offense with 11 kills.  Schlaefer would add 8 kills on the night.  Sestito would notch 25 assist and 6 aces in the win.  Houa Xiong and Natasha Stewart had 13 and 11 digs respectively.

MMA was led by Marie Harrison with four kills and 13 digs.

The Trailblazers are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Amherst College.
