Women’s Volleyball Denied by Keene

KEENE, N.H. - Curry College was defeated in three straight sets by Keene State Tuesday night in non-conference collegiate women's volleyball action at Spaulding Gymnasium.

With the loss Curry falls to 4-19 overall, while remaining 0-6 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play. Set scores were 25-14, 25-14, 27-25.

After dropping the first two sets, Curry bounced back in set three, establishing a 16-11 set lead thanks in part to service aces by Sydney DeCarvalho (Hope, R.I.) and Emma St. Cyr (Dover, N.H.). The Colonels forced the set to go beyond 25 points but ultimately came up short, losing the set 27-25.

Leah Oscar-Phoenix (Westwood, Mass.) led Curry with six kills, while Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) finished with a team-high eight kills. St. Cyr led the team with 13 assists.

Curry College returns to action on Thursday (10/26) to host Roger Williams in a conference matchup beginning at 6 p.m.
