Women's Volleyball Host Dig Pink Match Against Nichols

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated by Nichols in three straight sets Saturday morning in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball action at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

With the loss the Colonels fall to 4-18 on the season and 0-6 in conference play.

Junior Jenna Cotter (Watertown, Mass.) delivered a pregame speech to honor the annual Dig Pink game in which the Curry College women's volleyball team raises money for the Sideout Foundation which helps people with breast cancer regain control of their lives.

The final score of each set was 25-18 in favor of the Bison but the Colonels didn't make it easy, jumping out to an 11-9 lead to start off the first set before being slowly overtaken by Nichols.

Another bright spot occurred in set two when Curry went on a five-point scoring run to cut the Bison lead to just two points late in the set.

The third set saw Curry take a brief 13-12 lead after a four-point scoring run which included kills by Leah Oscar-Phoenix (Westwood, Mass.) and Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.).
