BEVERLY, Mass. - October 6, 2021 - For the second NEWVA coaches poll of the 2021 season, the Engineers of MIT have retained the top spot, garnering 12 of 15 possible first place votes. Currently ranked No. 18 in the most recent AVCA DIII Coaches Poll, MIT is currently 17-0 overall, and 6-0 in NEWMAC play, having dropped only seven sets all season.
The third NEWVA regional poll will be released on Tuesday, October 12.

Now up to 18 in the most recent AVCA DIII Coaches Poll, the Engineers remained unbeaten on the season, knocking off NEWMAC foe Springfield 3-2 and regional power Johnson & Wales 3-0 to highlight a 4-0 week.
2. Middlebury (14-0, 4-0 NESCAC) | 195 points | 1 first place vote
The Panthers extended their unbeaten start to 14 after a 4-0 week that included wins over NESCAC foe Trinity (3-0), NEWVA No. 8 Endicott (3-1), and Clarkson (3-1).
3. Wesleyan (9-1, 4-1 NESCAC) | 188 points | 1 first place vote
The Cardinal extended its win streak to six with two 3-0 sweeps of NESCAC opponents in Colby and Bates.
4. No. 22 (AVCA) Babson (14-1, 6-1 NEWMAC) | 177 points | 1 first place vote
The Beavers, now up to No. 22 in the most recent AVCA DIII Coaches Poll, produced a 3-0 record against NEWMAC opponents since the last poll, knocking off WPI 3-1, Clark 3-0 and Emerson 3-1.

The Pride dropped three NEWMAC matches over the last week, falling to NEWVA No. 1 MIT 3-2, WPI 3-0, and NEWVA No. 15 Clark 3-1.
